No More Lager

Moosehead
So, I think I’ve decided that I can no longer appreciate lagers. Right now, I’m drinking a Moosehead- which was, for awhile one of my favorite beers. However, whenever I drink it now I can’t help but be reminded of it much lower quality cousins from the US (i.e. Budweiser, etc). I really don’t want to discard a whole category of beer because it contains some low-quality beers, but I’m not sure I can avoid it.

David Brin, a scientist and writer, has an interesting piece up on his blog.

His basic point is that America’s habit of spending lots of money on stuff we don’t need (which has been going on since WWII), has effectively lifted much of the world up economically.

I just updated my blog tracker. I’m not sure how often I’m going to run updates, as I’m not sure how stable the rankings are. However, I’m hoping on adding some new features soon, like some graphs and lists of biggest movers.

Zend has announced the first ever PHP Conference and Expo October 18-21, 2005.

Its already on my calendar.
