Technorati now an OpenID provider

Awhile back Technorati launched a feature that allows you to claim your blog using OpenID. That means that if your blog host can work as an identity provider (LiveJournal, TypePad and others already support this), that’s all we need to be sure that you own that blog.

Starting today, Technorati can also be used as an identity provider. I hope you find this useful.

On a related note, there’s been some discussion lately about how hCard, XFN and OpenID can work together. Expect to see more once I’m done with grad school (less than a week to go until my last exam).

    That’s pretty cool Ryan! Definitely looking forward to seeing what you come up with soon though. Don’t forget to celebrate the end of your exams, though. :)

    Ryan connecting all three elements will be awsome. My Identity, My Profile and My Friends. Will it also include an element of the MicroID work? The OpenID element is just a URI string but MicroID includes two forms of verification.

    MicroID = sha1_hex( sha1_hex( “mailto:user@email.com” ) + sha1_hex( “http://website.com” ) );

    I am starting work on MicroLabels which are verified trust labels based on the site content. Think of RDF based content-labels or PICS which will like to OpenID.
