Mac OS X 10.4.3 breaks Mail.app

So, I finally installed Mac OS X 10.4.3 last night, but with little success- Mail.app is now useless to me.

When I fired up Mail.app this morning, none of the rules would actually work, I couldn’t edit the rules and I couldn’t create new rules.

Time to switch to Thunderbird.

Update: It looks like it was either MailTags or Mail Act-on, because after uninstalling those, everything seems fine. I’ll have to see if there’s an update available.

Update 2: I was write, it was Mail Act-on. Apparently I’d missed a critical update. All is fine now. Nothing to see here.

    But… but… you’re using Thunderbird now, eh? ;-)

    remi-

I don’t have time to switch.

    5 email accounts + 30 filtering rules + 15 act-on rules + schoolwork + a job = no time

Yep, I had the same rules problem. Interestingly I only had MailTags installed, and on uninstall all is well again.

    Thank God!

Actually the problem was with MailTags.

Version 1.1 was release November 2 and that took care of compatability problems with Mail in 10.4.3

Also Version 1.1 added a host of news features. (such as multiple keywords etc)

    Hey bro,

I had this problem with MailTags but didn’t know what the answer was and had just been dealing with. I stumbled on to your blog and found the answer. THANK YOU!!

Seems the same is true w/10.4.5? I am new to Mac OS X, so 10.4.5 is all I have ever used, but I installed MailTags and shortly after, Mail.app began crashing. Removing MailTags, all works fine, no crash in several days now.

I **really** like MailTags, I hope the problem is fixed soon.
