My $2 Bill

Sometime last week, I found a $2 bill in my wallet. I have no idea how it got there, so I have to assume someone gave it to me as change. Weird, I’ve seen $2 bills before, but never heard of them being actually used as currency.

Anyway, since this happened, a bunch of little things have been going well for me, so its staying in my wallet. Am I superstitious? Maybe. Maybe not. Either way, I don’t want to risk messing up a good thing.

When I was little there was this guy at my church who would give me a 2 dollar bill every year for my birthday. I still have them all somewhere. I kinda wish they would bring them back….think about how much easier it would be to pay for things……

    Melissa,

They don’t need to bring them back, they still make them. They don’t print them offten because there isn’t much demand for them. If you want them go to your bank and ask for them. If the bank doesn’t have any on hand (due to lack of demand) ask if they can order them for you, though you may have to agree to a minimum amount. A band of $2 notes contains 100 notes and a ‘brick’ contains 20 ‘bands’.

Also, they still make 1/2 dollar coins and dollar coins…if people would ask for them at the bank you would see those in circulation also. I agree that it would be easier to circulate $2 notes instead of just the $1 notes; but unless people start asking for them and spending them (nor hording them) then that will never happen. (By the way if your $2 bills have the ’signing of the decloration’ on the back then it is the current series and only worth $2. If the back of the note has Jefferson’s house, then it is an old US note and a collectors item worth a more than $2 in good condition.)
